Partner, Head of Family & Matrimonial

Liz is a Partner at Vanderpump & Sykes and became Head of Department in January 2024, having joined the firm 12 years earlier in 2012.  Liz was admitted as a solicitor in 1998 and prior to joining Vanderpump & Sykes worked in a number of provincial firms.  

Liz has a wealth of experience in respect of family issues and undertakes all aspects of divorce and family work for married, unmarried and LGBTQ+ couples.  She deals with both children and financial matters as well as cohabitee and domestic violence issues. She also handles Pre and Post Nuptial Agreements, Cohabitation Agreements and Separation Agreements. 

Liz has a particular interest and extensive experience involving arrangements for children including how much time a child should spend with each parent.  She also deals with Prohibited Steps Orders (such as preventing removal of a child from the jurisdiction), Specific Issue Orders (dealing with a change or name or an educational or health issue) and Leave to Remove applications both domestic and international. 

Liz is fully committed to trying to resolve matters in a collaborative fashion whilst recognising at the same time that in some cases, the Court’s assistance will be required.

She understands that no one case is the same and will tailor her advice to each individual client.  She will endeavour to find a solution in the most cost effective and time efficient manner that she can.
